The SANYO HIT (Heterojunction with
Intrinsic Thin Layer) solar cell is composed of a single thin crystalline
silicon wafer surrounded by ultra-thin amorphous silicon layers. This product
provides industry leading performance and value using state of the art
manufacturing techniques.
The HIT series module has a cell conversion
efficiency of 16.1% to 17.3% and a module conversion efficiency of 14.1% to
15.2% which is significantly higher than conventional SANYO solar cells.
Efficiency enhancing technology and
superior temperature characteristics combine in the HIT series module to
provide higher power output in high-temperature conditions than conventional
modules.
SANYO's production process cuts energy and
resource consumption. A single crystalline solar cell forms a junction at
approximately 900 C degrees (thermal diffusion method). But, the HIT solar
cell's junction formation temperature is as low as 200 C degrees, reducing the
energy used in the production process. Junction formation at low-temperatures
reduces thermal stress on the base and allows a thinner cell configuration which
also saves resources*.
The outstanding conversion efficiency and
high power output of the HIT modules can save installation space. HIT series
modules can be installed on narrow roof spaces which previously presented
difficulties. In addition, since fewer solar modules are required, there is
less weight on the roof
